“We must never stop dreaming.
Dreams provide nourishment for the soul,
just as a meal does for the body.”
~ Paulo Coelho
Nourish Your Soul
Our souls are the very essence of who we are, therefore, they require nourishment just as our bodies do.
For some, soul nourishment comes in the form of prayer and faith-based rituals. While for another it can be found in moments of stillness and mediation. However you provide substance for your mind and soul, proper care and maintenance on a daily basis is necessary for continual soul growth and personal development.
So light a candle, say a prayer, and empty your mind, and get ready to nourish your soul.
1. Speak Pleasantly
The Bible reminds us that:
“Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones”
It may not always seems like it, but the words that we use to speak about ourselves and others play a powerful role in our own ability to create our lives. Pleasant words naturally invoke feelings of happiness, satisfaction, and enjoyment while negative words (and thoughts) play an adverse role. So the next time you’re tempted to state something unfavorable about yourself — or anyone for that matter — think of Proverbs.
“The authentic self is the soul made visible.”
~ Sarah Ban Breathnach
Being our authentic self means to be genuinely who we truly are, and living our Truth all of the time. In order to live an authentic life we have to become vulnerable and open ourselves up to the world so that who we really are can reflect in everything we do. When we do that we blossom and our Light becomes ever more visible.
3. Live Happily
“To live happily is an inward power of the soul.”
~ Marcus Aurelius
What would life be without happiness? Living an authentic life full of inspiration and learning and meaning — sprinkled with giggles and kisses from my daughter — is what brings me the greatest joy. And it is also what gives the most nourishment to my soul.
Whatever provides you with the most fulfillment, dedicate your life to that and be renewed.
